Subscribers to the current agreement have been sent commitment forms.  It is very important that these are submitted to Eduserv before the 9 July as the final price for the content will depend on the number of institutions that subscribe.

If you would like more information about the agreement then please contact nikki.green@eduserv.org.uk

2. News about MindGenius - Vista compatible version now available

MindGenius Education 2005 is a mind mapping program which allows users to draw a variety of concept maps and export them to a range of applications.

Anyone running MindGenius 2005 under the Chest Agreement is entitled to a free upgrade to the latest version of the product which is Vista compatible. The MindGenius Education Enterprise 2.43 setup files can be downloaded from the MindGenius website via a hidden link upon request to Nicola Garwood at nicola.garwood@eduserv.org.uk.

Please note that this is not an upgrade patch, but instead it is the full setup.exe to install the product fresh. The upgrade should install over the top of the old editions; however if there are any problem with this a complete removal and re-install is recommended.

If there are any problems with the installation, the Technical Contact should get in touch with the MindGenius support desk at support@mindgenius.com where you will receive further assistance.

5. EduCoMS: a brand new online community for IT professionals

Following the successful negotiation of the Microsoft Campus Agreement last November, Eduserv has been working with Microsoft and UCISA to launch EduCoMS (www.educoms.net), a new community website for IT professionals using Microsoft technologies in HE and FE institutions.

Anyone looking for support, shared wisdom and experiences of building IT solutions based on Microsoft products should make EduCoMS their first port of call. Featuring document libraries, forums, wiki pages and news on a wide range of tools such as Sharepoint, Exchange, Windows Server and more, EduCoMS is run by and for the HE and FE IT community.

We’re currently encouraging everyone in the community to start contributing their views and experiences. Every new post will be rewarded with National Book Vouchers and there are five Star Community Member prizes of a ticket to the Microsoft Tech Ed 2008 Conference in Barcelona – worth €2,245 excluding VAT!

Please pass on details of EduCoMS to any of your colleagues who may find it useful.
